Summer 2009

After almost a year from the so-called crysis, real or not, the Productions are getting cheaper and hollower in almost every aspect. Advertising agencies started cutting down Production Budgets and went right down the bottom of the pit, searching for solutions that whould give them not the best product for their budget, but only the cheaper one. Production value and quality stopped being an issue. They only wanted cheap productions. And that lead them to full Post Production solutions from any agency available to bid the lowest price. And in return they got crappy commercials. And they didn't even care!! They started ruinning great commercials by adaptations that didn't even had a director. They only needed an Editor and some nobrain Graphic Designer to recreate the worst cut versions ever seen in almost 10 years of Greek TV Commercials.

Advertising agencies made the first mistake of making the whole process cheap. But Post production offices did the worst...

Instead of investing to new technology, that's cheap and capable of producing more than adequate results for filming in low budget, they just followed along without ever proposing a different way of dealing with the so-called crysis. And as soon as quality went down, people lost clients. And since we already hit rock bottom the cards gotted shuffled again.

And now we are standing in the middle of the pit with all the Agencies searching for solutions and none of the Post Production Companies giving them any.

Where will this end?
It's not up to the goverment, it's not up to the consumer, it's not even, up to the client. It's up to creative thinking. It's up to people that are looking further to the future and not only a year or two ahead. Whoever is going to revolutionise their workflow and create great-looking content with the lowest budget, are gonna rise up from this mess.

So people, start looking around. All the solutions are right in front of you. You don't need to be a multi-billionare now, to invest to new tech, and new tech-thinking. Stop reading investment magazines and economical newspapers and start reading Technology Blogs and New Age Filming Technics. Embrace what's new and use it's low price to lower your prices. Don't be afraid to change your company's workflow. If the one you have, got you here, then use another to get out. Look at simple solutions for multiple problems. And use your people. Don't fire them, use their knowledge. They know what you need. Let them find the solutions you need for their line of work. Educate them if nessecery. They will feel unique and they will find solutions, and they surely will colaborate better.

All the 3D was done using Autodesk 3D Studio Max, and the composition was done in Flint 9.5.14 and Flint 2009 with full Sapphire Sparks. Senior Compositors where E. Solomonidou and Me and most of the Supervising, Producing and the Directing was done by G. Georgariou and M. Sakadakis.
